Minutes from Sustainable Crown Hill’s First Meeting
June 24, 2007
Greetings Sustainable Crown Hill! You are all amazing people. Thank you for coming and bringing your energy and ideas.
Down below is the list we generated. I added a few more items that came up in discussions and from an email from Dennis after our meeting,
MONTHLY MEETING: Mark your calendar for our regular meetings on the last Sunday of each month from 5-7pm. Potluck; kids welcome. We’ll do a potluck each meeting because that will help us stay focused on having a BLAST. Let’s eat from 5-5:30. Our mtg portion will start promptly at 5:30 and end promptly at 7pm.
KIDS: I think it goes unsaid that parents will be responsible for managing their kids. That said, I think we could come up with a creative team approach for parents and other members who want to, to share in the task of watching the kids. Maybe rotate 15 minute watch slots? Also, parents might want to bring activities to the meetings that will keep kids engaged and relatively quiet……..portable DVDs, coloring, etc. Parents: do one of you want to coordinate making sure there is a plan for the kids, then you could rotate this responsibility from month to month? Just a suggestion.
ALCOHOL: Okay, here’s my thought. While I love a glass of wine and in fact supplied a bottle for us at our mtg, I don’t think it helps us run a focused and productive meeting. Let’s keep it fun and have a blast. If people really want alcohol there, we could hold it until after the meeting, if people want to stay and socialize. Comments and suggestions welcome.
